Perhaps a reference as the most relevant project in OS trend.

Some links would be useful such as LAMP, KDE, GNOME, Xfce, FVWM, Window maker.

A figure with Linux desktops and distributios would be useful to undestand these terms.

• I want to rewrite this article.

• Logo is mistaken, Linux logo is a penguin, and GNU logo is a gnu.

• Define clearly what an operating system is (whole system or only the kernel)
